RUSD CTE Articulation Agreements
What Is Articulation
Articulation provides a connection between high school and ROP courses through the college articulation process. This process allows students enrolled in specific career and technical education (CTE) courses to seek college credit for work completed in high school. Articulation provides a streamlined path for students who complete a program of study in high school and wish to continue on that path at the community college.
Articulation is an instructor-driven process. Each year, college faculty meet with high school and ROP instructors to determine if their courses are similar enough in content and assessment to be considered for articulation. If the college faculty deems it is appropriate, a formal Articulation Agreement will be prepared and official signatures collected.
Articulation Agreements are valid for one school year. There are three types of articulation agreements:
- Project Credit
- Advanced Placement (Variance)
- Articulation Credit (Credit by Exam)
